heehee peeps! yest i dreamt we were at changi airport and dreamt we took a lot of photos at the airport which did not look like the airport.and i dreamt that i forgot to bring my long sleeves. hahahaha.
oh i bought my travel insurance thru my mum liao.if u all dunno maybe i can us her what shes buying. as for money exchange, jacko's company just ran out of aussie dollars. she'll check for me if tmr got. i checked dbs rates... its 1.25 now... definetley dropped. so if u all r just lazy we can just ask my mum. if not... maybe shumei?? yupyup. anyway yahui said before can change there too right? how much to change? from the entry at the bottom i calculated IF we go for those day tours... it'll cost about AU$500. then right, we have to pay money at sydney's unilodge which will be AU$180. i might get the debit card in time. so if u all want, i could pay that for u all first then u pay me back in singapore. just that u all may lugi some money cos the exchange rates are different. yupyup. now our expenditure on accomodation and airfare stands at S$810+225=S$1035 thanks to huawei and his friend!! :) ok yupyup. meals... i dunno how muchto spend really. ah ok... not helping.

ok peeps...
i went ahead to book kingsgate cos its the same agency as unilodge... and they accept payment in aust when we check out. that means my mum's credit card is only for like in case we dont appear or sthg. so if u all wanna change your minds still can. cancellation must be 5 days in advance.
i counted the costs:
travel:S$810
accomdation:AU$380 which is about S$475
total: S$1285
so right if ur budget was S$2000... then we have S$725 left.
which is about AU$580. haha.
sydney harbor bridge climb=AU$155
Great Ocean Road prob=AU$100
a cruise down sydney harbor=AU$25
cold i mean blue mountain=AU$200
(checked on websites)
so if we go for these maybe more popular sights... that leaves us with not much.
sigh!
ok so like maybe cassie ow can ur mum's fren bring us to cold mountain?

hey peeps... about YAH melbourne
there are no more 6-beds dorms so what they suggested was book an 8 bed dorm and pay for the extra. cos we are not members, we'll have to pay an extra AU3.50. it was supposed to be AU25 each plus tt... but when we pay for the 2 beds and share the extra cost... it will work out to about AU37 (i hope my maths is ok).
i am going ahead to book it. any objections by tonight k... otherwise confirm liao. :)

We’ve put together a quick list of attractions that you will want to check on your list, based on geography and must-see factor.
Day One
Queen Victoria Markets - Shop for it, and you may find it here! Victoria Market is the shopping heart of Melbourne. More than 120 years of history packed into shops and stalls selling food, clothes and and knick-knacks.
Melbourne Aquarium - By the banks of the Yarra River since 2000, the aquarium offers a comprehensive experience of Australia’s ric waters, from deadly sharks and jellyfish, to delightful corals.
Crown Casino - Flame throwers in the night sky, in this landmark nighttime watering hole by the banks of the Yarra River.
Day Two
National Gallery of Victoria - A pair of buildings – the Ian Potter Centre for Australian Art and the International Building - together house one of Melbourne’s finest art collections. Near each other in the city.
Yarra River Cruise - Take in the city from the river – you can take a ride from Southgate to the historic Docklands or the beautiful parks upriver.
Day Three
MCG - Sporting Victoria – take a trip to the large Melbourne Cricket Grounds, Australia’s largest stadium and often a venue for epic test matches, especially the Ashes series with England.
Albert Park - Then have a day at Albert Park, site of the Australian Grand Prix Formula 1 Race, but also a place for volleyball, rowing and sailing in the lake.

Sydney Tourist Attractions
Things To Do in Sydney in Just a Few Days
We’ve put together a quick list of attractions that you will want to check on your list, based on geography and must-see factor.
Day One
Sydney Harbour - Make a date with the big attractions of Sydney – Sweeping Opera House, soaring Harbour Bridge and the eateries along Darling Harbour. You can take to StarCity to try your luck at Sydney’s only casino.
Day Two
City Center - Shop in Sydney’s flagship departmental store, David Jones, or one of the several located in the city center near Hyde Park. Or take a stroll down Oxford street, with more shopping and an “exotic” reputation. Sydney Tower gives you the best view of Sydney from the sky at 250 m above everything.
Day Three
North Shore - Taronga Zoo – take ferry ride to the North shore to Taronga Zoo (admission included in ferry tickets). One of the finest in the world, the zoo features the unique creatures of the antipodean world.
Manly - This beach community is home to lifesaving carnivals and the Manly Jazz Festival in September.
Day Four
Olympics Home - Scene of the triumphant staging of the Olympic Games in 2000, this site was one of the most environment-conscious construction projects ever.
Sydney Cricket Ground / Aussie Stadium - The Australian obsession with cricket and rugby lives on in the SCG, frequent home of epic test matches, and Aussie Stadium, site of the Rugby World Cup Final in 2003.
Bondi - The quintessential Aussie Beach, with surfing and sun especially at the height of the Southern Summer.

(hey poops?) ah. Hotel Unilodge:
"This swanky-looking joint offers good value for it's larger rooms, and has impressive facilities and amenities, such as a business centre and an indoor lap pool." -Lonely Planet, Sydney. OO. its uhh very near to Broadway Shopping Centre (is this the one youre talkin abt, clot?) and just 1.5 km from the Central station. Location IS pretty good, near Chinatown, Darling Harbour... (not too sure the distance but i should think about 2/3 km?) there's a Darling Harbour Superticket ($29.95) which gives you a harbour cruise, entry to the aquarium and chinese garden, a cafe meal and a monorail raide. call 92647377, Matilda Cruises. valid for one month, this is good because aquarium ticket costs $22 and the chinese garden $4.50 already... uhh aquarium has a transparent underwater tunnel, exhibits and blabla sounds like sentosa to me. OR we could just walk around the harbour and not be tempted by the tourist-targetters. free performance of Sounds of Outback at the Northern Territory &Outback Centre but tt place just sounds like it sells didgeridoos and like its too catered for tourists ie they're out to cheat your money if you wanna buy the aboriginal/australiana-type souvenirs.
uhh they say the Blue Mountains are top of a must-see list, but it's a tad far from sydney. by train, there are hourly departures from Central station, taking about 2 hrs to reach Katoomba station by the yellow line. OR "backpacker-oriented Wonderbus" from sydney, have to call 92475151 to find out what exactly it is though...
Bondi Beach- we can get there by CityRail (ie train) blue line. looks like only four stops but i have no idea how long it takes... from there, bus service 380 or 382. hmm what i read is that it's not as what it's hyped up to be... best place for "homesick brits" haha but there ar plenty of other beaches, if you pple are still interested in a beach in winter i'll check it up again
oo btw there's Paddy's Markets, open 9am to 430 pm sat and sundays. its situated pretty near unilodge, in chinatown, distance abt the same as from unilodge to central station. one of those market places selling crappy stuff ("marketfare"), inexpensive cds, clothing wigs boardgames blablabla i expect it's like one of those pasarmalams you get here. we can do this if we're bored haha but prolly just low-priority entertainment.
more when we confirm lodging? :) do you pple wanna shop or visit museums or walk in parks??

hey peeps! currently in indo for a few days till sunday cos i gotta go for this indo uni entrance crap on sat and sun, wish me luck yah..anyway sorry havent been blogging much cos as yu all remember,i CANT seem to open the blog so i gotta see everything from the 'manage post' page siggh ahaha but now i can see it cos im in indo and my parents just got us a cable (finally) haha yu dont know how slow the connection is here man.. sigghh anyway thanks chee for eveything :) im VARY VARY excited abt the trip whee.. less than a month!! cant wait man heh.. anyway for accomodation,i asked my friend who went to aussie last dec and she said that uni lodge or travel lodge would be a good place to stay..cos some of the hotels are not what they APPEAR to be yup yup photos can be deceiving man.. so anyway there is this uni lodge that my friend stayed when she travelled to melb and the location is really really good (btw uni lodge is much bigger than travel lodge,it's like an apartment got kitchen and stuff and there are 2 levels to it..so it's something like a chalet) anyway where was i? the location yesh! it is located smack opposite this huge shopping mall which has everything (dont worry,my friend is a true blue shooping girl :)) and there are 2 groceries shop opposite and 24hour mart next to it so it's really realy near and it's quite safe for anyone to go get a mie in the midst of the nite..yup..ill find out more abt it from her and ill update yu guys and yu get to see how it looks like cos she took a pic there :) yupyup just a little update from me and i cant believe i have to apply for the aussie visa myself.. sniff! take care pple and see yu guys real soon!

hey peeps!!! i'm back! haha..i haven't been slacking okie? did a bit of homework..heh..i realised it's much harder to plan than i expected cos there are jus so many things that i dunno the price of. i haven't really figured out the prices for the land and tour packages cos we kinda forgot to ask the agencies wat hotels we were going to stay in (oh yah clot..can you open the mail CTC sent us huh? i can't open leh..) anyway..i've more or less compared the prices..it should be alot cheaper if we plan the whole thing on our own loh. eh..i'm too lazy to quote everything here..show you guys the rough calculations on sat yah? haha..so those going Aust diedie also must turn up for alumni ;)
here's a rundown of the things we've gotta look at lah..if i missed anything out..PLS add in..or else we'll be under-budgetting! hmm..as for exchange rate..think it's about A$1- S$1.27 or S$1.28..
1. Return air tix
2. Domestic flight (internal transfer)
3. Airport transfer (to and fro airport and hotel)
4. Food (tentatively S$20/day)
5. Accommodation
6. Transport fare (for travelling around the city)
7. Shopping (up to you guys..S$200?)
8. Airport tax (abt S$154)
9. Visa
10. Insurance
anyway..if we plan the whole thing ourselves, it's the airfare that mandy mentioned..Quantas flight (SIN-MEL-SYD-SIN) S$750..that's inclusive of the domestic flight so we get 3 tix at one go lah. i found a pretty good hotel.. as in in terms of price and location..but think it's only a 2.5 star hotel..it's KingsGate Hotel (131 King St Melbourne, Australia 3000) you guys go check out this website..
KingsGate1 KingsGate2 it's supposed to be 500m from Spencer St. Station..then from airport to the station got skybus (eh..mel only got one airport rite? Tullamarine Airport?)..like that to and fro will be about S$22 (A$8.50 per trip)..not bad rite..quite cheap. other than that, i haven't checked out any for sydney yet..you guys free then go to those websites above to check out the other hotels yah? if you find a better one for mel also pls say! hmm..i'll try to update again tmr if i have enuff time lah..yupz..that's all for now! :)
p/s forgot..for this agency..visa processing's FREE!!! hahaha..(CTC charges S$10 per person..)
